Recently I’ve found out how hard it is to start over. Pick up from a point where you have stopped some time ago. Like the drawings I made before …. now when I try to draw again it’s so much harder. People say that if you can do something: draw, sing dance, ect. you cannot forget how to do it again even after 10 years…. They all lie!
It is hard, it’s even harder than the beginnig. For when you begin, you never question yourself whether you’re going to make it. When the same person have previous experience and have something to compare his current work with – now that’s an obstacle. Developing skills comes along with practise. The more you practise the better you become.
Human mind has this special behaviour – if you don’t train it, it will erase the progress you’ve made so far… Only the memory of it remains…. And if you’re lucky enough, some day you’ll feel the desire to start over. And then if you’re persistent enough, you’ll try to reach that point at which you’ve stopped.
Finally if you’re intelligent enough to understant that this is not actually enough you’ll keep on developing.
To be back to the basics of something is not scary, not even bad. To never encourage yourself to continue, now that is lack of self-esteem.
